Individualised Living Options Melbourne from UinCare Support gives you a flexible way to design disability support around where, how, and with whom you want to live. Instead of using one housing model for everyone, ILO starts with your goals, preferred routines, relationships, strengths, and support needs.
You may choose to live alone, with a housemate, or with a host. Your arrangement can combine paid support with help from people in your chosen network. Together, you and your support team create a plan that aims to remain personal, safe, and sustainable. The NDIA decides whether the supports meet funding criteria and fit within your plan.
ILO funding covers eligible disability supports. You remain responsible for rent, home purchase costs, groceries, utilities, and other ordinary living expenses. ILO also differs from Supported Independent Living and may not suit a person who needs rostered support around the clock. Read the official NDIS guidance about home and living supports, compare our accommodation services, or send a referral to discuss your circumstances.
ILO usually involves two connected stages. During exploration and design, you identify where you want to live, who you may live with, what your informal network can provide, and which paid supports you need. The planning process also examines risks, compatibility, backup arrangements, and how the option could work over time.
During implementation and ongoing support, the agreed arrangement moves into daily life. UinCare can help coordinate supports, explain responsibilities, review how the arrangement works, and respond when circumstances change. Your NDIS plan and service agreement set the scope of support we can deliver.
The primary support forms the central part of an ILO arrangement. Depending on the design, a host, housemate, mentor, or another agreed person may provide regular assistance. Before support begins, everyone should agree on roles, boundaries, expectations, payment arrangements, and backup plans. Written details help avoid confusion and protect participant choice.
Supplementary supports provide agreed assistance when the primary supporter has other commitments or needs a break. The arrangement and backup supports are set out in your approved ILO proposal. UinCare provides everyday support-worker assistance; nursing and high-intensity care are outside our service scope. Support outside the home, such as community participation, work or study assistance, must be considered separately from ILO funding.
Regular reviews help you and your support team check whether the arrangement remains safe, stable, and aligned with your goals. We can review responsibilities, identify emerging risks, collect feedback, and coordinate reasonable changes. If your needs change, we can help you discuss options with your support network and the NDIS.
